Capture Energy: How energy storage can benefit your property
Reduce peak demand, make better use of the solar power you generate and lower electricity costs. Energy storage offers several opportunities for property owners, but what does it take to make the investment pay off? We asked Niklas Tjäder, CCO at Capture Energy, one of the exhibitors at Clima Energy Nordic, three quick questions about the untapped potential, the calculations needed and what visitors can expect to take away from their stand.
Where do you see the greatest untapped potential for energy storage in properties today?
“The greatest potential lies in using storage to reduce peak demand and shift electricity consumption to times when prices are lower. Many property owners pay more than they need to in demand charges. As electrification increases through EV charging infrastructure, heat pumps and solar panels, managing that demand becomes even more important. An energy storage system allows a property to make better use of its own solar power, reduce pressure on the grid and generate revenue by providing grid support services.”
What needs to happen for more property owners to move from interest to investment?
“Above all, they need clear, credible financial projections. Property owners need to understand what the investment will deliver in financial terms, based on their specific property, consumption patterns and electricity contract. It is also about making the process straightforward. A complete solution, with a single provider taking responsibility for everything from analysis and installation to operation and optimisation, makes it much easier to take the next step.”
What will you be showcasing at Clima Energy Nordic, and what do you hope visitors will take away?
“At our stand, we will showcase a range of products and solutions, including our energy storage systems and how they are controlled and optimised. We hope visitors leave with a clear understanding of what energy storage could mean for their properties, ideally with an initial idea of the savings they could achieve.”
